Hoag is committed to delivering high-quality care to the Orange County Community, and will not allow Hoag’s current dispute with Providence to disrupt that care. As our physician leadership made clear, we believe that independence will improve patient care, is in the best interests of our patients and is necessary to further Hoag’s mission. In the meantime, however, we thought it important to underscore that patients can continue to access care at Hoag and with our doctors in the same way patients always have.

If you are currently a patient of Hoag Hospital or of a Hoag Medical Group doctor, you will still likely receive communications from Providence St. Joseph Health about your care at Hoag (letter, email, bill, etc.). This does not mean that you would lose access to Hoag Hospital or your Hoag physician if the current Providence affiliation is dissolved. Providence St. Joseph Health currently serves as the administrator for processing claims for patient health needs under an existing contract with Hoag. Your relationship with your doctor will not be affected if that changes.
